Group of nine to Colonel Lloyd S. Partridge, 12th Field Artillery: Silver Star, numbered “1819″ and hand-engraved “Lloyd S./Partridge” (reribboned on a split brooch), in original issue box with lapel pin ; Army Commendation Medal, crimp-over-slot brooch, hand-engraved “Lloyd S. Partridge”, with issue case; Mexican Border Service Medal, numbered “2556″ and engraved “Lloyd S. Partridge” on the reverse (85th Field Artillery, Camp Knox, Kentucky), ribbon resewn at the brooch; World War I Victory Medal, clasps “Aisne”, “Aisne-Marne” and “Defensive Sector”, ribbon resewn across the back; American Defense Service Medal; American Campaign Medal; Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal; World War II Victory Medal. Plus a Veterans of Foreign Wars membership medal.

Colonel Partridge served on the Mexican Border as a sergeant, 1st Field Artillery, Virginia National Guard. In World War I, as an officer, he served with the 12th and 81st Field Artillery regiments. 2nd Division General Order 40, 1918, cited Partridge and two others, saying they “carried out their duties in reconnaissance and liaison under fire and stress in a satisfactory manner, during the recent operations against the enemy.” The Silver Star was authorized on 19 December 1932. He received the Commendation Medal for services as Chief of the Training Group, Organization and Training Division, War Department General Staff. Colonel Partridge retired in 1947 and died in 1961. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
