Silver Star, split brooch, hand-engraved “Gordon M. Babcock”, numbered “1242″, marked “BB&B/Phila” on the suspension. Ribbon worn; some discoloration to the pendant.

Babcock, who was from Brooklyn, served as a bugler, Company D, 106th Infantry, 27th Division, and was cited for “courage and determination under fire in the vicinity of Mt. Kemmel, Belgium, August 1918”.  He received the New York Conspicuous Service Cross #981 (location unknown).
