Silver Star/Purple Heart (Sven Chilstedt, 104th Infantry)
Silver Star/Purple Heart pair to PFC Sven R. Chilstedt, 104th Infantry, 26th Infantry Division: Silver Star, slot brooch, hand-engraved “Sven R./Chilstedt”, in a black leatherette case and outer box with ribbon bar and lapel pin; Purple Heart, slot brooch, hand-engraved “Sven R./Chilstedt”, in a black leatherette case with ribbon bar and lapel, with an outer box and wrapping addressed to his wife.
PFC Chilstedt was born in Sweden in 1899. He enlisted in the US Army in May 1917 and went to France in October 1917, serving with Company A, 104th Infantry, 26th Division. He remained in France in various units until his discharge in February 1921. In August 1942, Chilstedt enlisted again and served in Company A, 104th Infantry, 26th Infantry Division. He was killed in action on 22 October 1944 at Moncourt Woods, France. With a copied article from the OMSA Journal about Chilstedt and the medals.
