Sampson Medal, with “USS Oregon” top bar and “Santiago de Cuba/July 3″ reverse. Impressed “William G. MacKnight, App 2d C”. In its original box of issue Some leatherette missing at the hinge).

MacKnight is confirmed on the ship’s roll. This medal was authorized in the Phase I distribution. In Phase III, four bars for “Santiago” were added.
