Percy Bunce Gibson served as a gunner’s mate, first class, during the Spanish-American War. In September, 1914, he attested as a lieutenant in the Canadian Expeditionary Force, noting that he was a civil engineer and had previous service in the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada (3 years), US Navy and the US National Guard (9 years).
