Purple Heart, slot brooch, script-engraved “Charles L./Jones”. With two holes in the ribbon from the removal of a device; adhesive residue on the reverse of the ribbon.

There were at least two men named “Charles L. Jones” killed in World War II. One was a Second Lieutenant, 307th Fighter Squadron, 15th Air Force, killed in action over Rumania on 31 July 1944. The second was Technical Sergeant Charles Leonard Jones, 329th Infantry, 83rd infantry Division, killed on 4 July 1944 in France and buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.
