New York. Penfield World War I Service Medal. Impressed “Penfield, NY/August 19, 1919″ on the reverse and engraved “Lewis Schlesing” on the reverse of the top bar. This issue is not recorded in either Planck’s or Small’s books.

In 1920, Penfield had a population of 2087. Lewis H. Schlesing served in the 502nd Engineers during World War I. He died in 1953 and is buried in Penfield.
