New Jersey. Montclair World War I Service Medal, engraved “R.W.P. Rose” on the top bar, with a large gold star on the ribbon.

Corporal Richard W.P. Rose, USMC, 5th Marine Regiment, 2nd Division , died in France on 24 June 1918 of wounds received in action at Belleau Wood.  He is buried at the Suresnes American Cemetery.
