Nebraska Sioux Indian War Medal, 1890-1891 (Trombla)
Nebraska. Sioux Indian War Medal, 1890-1891, engraved on the reverse “J.E. Trombla”. The bow-and-arrow suspension and top bar are missing and the small suspension loops have been removed, being replaced by a straight-bar across the reverse of the pendant. Worn, but a very rare Indian Wars state medal.
Joseph E. Trombla (1865-1962) was born in Nebraska and lived in Omaha, but later moved to Newburyport, Massachusetts, where he was an undertaker.
