Navy Good Conduct Medal, hand-engraved “Harold/Frederick/Hoff/1933”, with pin-back bars “1937 [Harold Frederick Hoff]” and “1941 [Harold Frederick Hoff]”, wrap brooch, resewn at the brooch.

Harold Frederick Hoff was born in New York in 1908 and enlisted in the Navy in 1925. In June 1942, he reported aboard USS Philadelphia (CL-41) as a Boatswains Mate. The ship served in the Atlantic and Mediterranean, supporting operations in North Africa and Italy.

Hoff was promoted to Chief Boatswain in February 1945 and retired as a CWO-2 in April 1954. He died in Florida in March 2002.
