Military Order of the Dragon (Capt A.G. Sargent, IMS)

Military Order of the Dragon, engraved “Captain/Alfred G. Sargent/I.M.S./No.266”. Replacement silk ribbon with embroidered device; no top bar. The black finish has been replaced by a brown finish, but the gold highlights remain bright.

Captain (later Lieutenant Colonel) Alfred George Sargent, Indian Medical Service, is confirmed on the membership roll of the Military Order of the Dragon. Born in December 1872, he died in Mesopotamia on 14 May 1918, while assigned to the 25th Indian General Hospital. He is buried in the Basra Military Cemetery.
