The research of Al Gleim and Allen Menke, published in “The Gleim Medal Letters, 1971-1997″, shows that, in 1923, the Marine Corps received 100 Bastian Brothers Navy Spanish Campaign Medals and numbered them “1251″ to “1350″ with engraved numbers.
