Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal (Noren, 1st Enl, 1915-1919)

Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, hand-engraved “No.10070/Harold R./Noren/1st/ Enlistment/1915-1919″, with hand-engraved pin-on bar “2nd Enlistment” [ No.10070/1920-1924]. Small verdigris spots on the reverse.

Harold Noren enlisted in December 1915, served aboard USS Mayflower, USS Michigan and with a guard company in France. In 1920-1922, he was in Haiti and, in 1923, was part of the Marine Detachment, Managua, Nicaragua. He was discharged as a sergeant in May 1924.
