Legion of Merit, “John A. Geddes”

Lt Col John A. Geddes was a research chemist with the DuPont Company in civilian life. A Wilmington, Delaware, news clipping notes the award of the Legion of Merit for his work in “the Signal Intelligence Division of the Chief Signal Officer.” This medal was awarded in European Theater of Operations General Orders No.111 of 1945.  Geddes’ (1912-1994) grave marker in Arlington National Cemetery notes his rank as Colonel and shows further service in Korea.
