Sergeant Gamble, from New Kensington, Pennsylvania, joined the Army in 1962 and arrived in Vietnam on 14 Mar 1966. While a team leader on a search and destroy mission, he was shot in the head by a sniper. He died of his wounds on 13 June 1966.
