Group to 2Lt George S. George S. Morsey was born in October 1912 and died in October 1958. He first enlisted in January 1941 and was discharged in November 1946. The application for his gravestone verifies the Bronze Star and notes service in the 294th Port Company, part of the 1st Cavalry Division in New Guinea and the Admiralty Islands. As Morsey was Caucasian, and the 294th was an African-American unit, he would have served with them as an officer. Morsey is buried in Fairhaven, Massachusetts.
