Cuban American Legion of Honor
Cuban American Legion of Honor. Bronze and enamel, with a Cuban flag ribbon. The ribbon is worn at the suspension ring and is fragile. This is the badge illustrated in “American Society Medals”, by Lee Bishop and J. Robert Elliott, 1998.
Little is known of the origin of this medal. Bishop and Elliott postulate that it was created and issued by the Cuban-American League, a New York organization founded after the Spanish-American War to further Cuban interests.
