Connecticut. Volunteers’ Service Medal 1861, numbered “731” on the reverse. Ribbon very heavily worn.

Created in 1903, this medal was awarded to veterans of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Connecticut Volunteers. The Connecticut Adjutant General reported that only 730 medals were awarded.
