France, US Army: Bronze Star, slot brooch, unmamed, in a black leatherette case with ribbon bar and lapel; Purple Heart, with 1 oak leaf cluster, slot brooch, unnamed, in a black leatherette case; American Defense Service Medal. With a pair of dog tags to France (T-41); Combat Infantryman’s Badge, marked “Sterling”, a CBI patch (locally-made; worn); sergeant’s stripes and several uniform buttons.

Charles J. France, of Portland, Oregon, was drafted into the Army on 12 July 1941. He died in 1976 and is buried in the Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Oregon.
