Bronze Star/Purple Heart group, J.S. Nicodemus, 3rd Inf Regt

Group of six to John S. Nicodemus, Jr, US Army: Bronze Star, slot brooch, machine-engraved “John S./Nicodemus”; Purple Heart, slot brooch, machine-engraved “John S. Nicodemus”; Army Good Conduct Medal, slot brooch, unnamed; American Campaign Medal; Europe-Africa-Middle East Campaign Medal, with 2 bronze stars; World War II Victory Medal. With a dog tag (T-43).

Private Nicodemus apparently served with the 3rd Infantry Regiment in France and was admitted to a hospital in April 1945, suffering from the blast effects of a land mine detonation. The regiment moved into Germany on 26 April 1945, attached to the 106th Infantry Division.
