Pair to TSgt John R. Berenberg, 3297th Ordnance Base Depot: Bronze Star, slot brooch, hand-engraved “John R./Berenberg”; Army Good Conduct Medal, slot brooch, machine-engraved “John R. Berenberg”. With a theater-made set of ribbon bars (Good Conduct; Europe-Africa-Middle East Campaign; Asiatic-Pacific Campaign (2 stars); American Campaign and World War II Victory Medal. With the original citation letter for the Bronze Star (April 1946); a Request for Decoration for a Legion of Merit for Berenberg; his discharge and Separation Qualification Record. With a dog tag (T43) and a small photo post card of Berenberg in uniform. The ribbon bars and medal pins have glue residue from having been framed.

Berenberg was cited “for meritorious service during the period 1 March 1945 to 31 August 1945 as chief storekeeper of Ordnance Automotive Section, 3297th Ordnance Base Depot Company. During the cited period Sergeant Berenberg operated, without officer supervision, the Ordnance Automotive Parts Section of Base General Depot No. 1 serving almost the entire China Theater with vital automotive supplies and equipment. The large operation which Sergeant Berenberg controlled proved to be one of the most outstanding Supply Sections in efficiency of issue and proper storage of materials…”
