Pair of marksmanship badges to Jacob B. Samuel, 7th Cavalry: Army Revolver Prize, in silver, top bar “Northern”, engraved on the reverse “J.B. Samuel/Troop A, 7th Cav/1909″ (1 inch diameter). In its original fitted red leatherette case of issue. Wear on both sides, including the enamel. Plus, his Sharpshooter badge (1885-1921), in silver (the pin-catch has been replaced and the pin shaft is missing). With a studio portrait of Samuel in uniform, wearing these two badges (removed from an album, so there is adhesive and paper residue on the reverse).

Samuel enlisted into Troop A, 7th Cavalry, in August 1907 at Fort Slocum, New York. He served through November 1914, when Army records show that he was dishonorably discharged (Sergeant, 12th Cavalry). Samuel registered for the draft in 1917 as a woodworker in Detroit, showing over 5 years of Army service.
