Arkansas. Mexican Border Service Medal, numbered “1272″, marked “Chas.S.Stifft/Little Rock, Ark” on the reverse. The ribbon shows wear in the center stripe and has been resewn at the top bar.

Arkansas provided two infantry regiments for service on the Mexican Border, with about 3000 men assigned. Because the medal was not issued until the late 1920s, it is unlikely that many qualified recipients ever got their medal.
