Pair to Sergeant Robert V. Boalton, US Army Air Forces: Air Medal, slot brooch, hand-engraved “Robert V./Boalton/A.C.”; Purple Heart, slot brooch, hand-engraved “Robert V. Boalton”.

Sergeant Boalton was assigned to the 25th Bomb Squadron, 40th Bomb Group, Very Heavy. His reported date of death was 24 May 1945 and he is commemorated on the Tablets of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. Boalton’s B-29, “B-Sweet”, was lost after running out of fuel returning from a Tokyo fire raid. Boalton, who was the left gunner, was the only crewman not recovered.
