Jack Lionel Buckley, born in February 1917 in Beardstown, Illinois, was commissioned in October 1941 and immediately entered active duty. He rose to major, AUS, by the end of 1944. In 1965, he commanded the 3501st Air Force Recruiting Group, Stewart Air Force Base, New York. In 1969, he was in the Operations Division of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
