MOLLUS Medal, numbered “6697″, with an original companion’s red-centered ribbon. Issued to Captain James M. Tisdall, 95th Illinois Infantry.
The 95th Illinois Infantry was organized at Rockford in September 1863, moving to Mississippi, where it was in action at Vicksburg. It moved to Tennessee and Georgia for the Atlanta Campaign, and then to Mobile. The regiment lost 84 men killed and another 205 to disease.
