Massachusetts. Long Service Medal, numbered “1726″ on the reverse of the top bar. Issued to Ernest A. Witt, Naval Brigade. With Witt’s name written on the bottom of the issue box.

Witt enlisted in June 1899, was commissioned in 1912 and appointed a lieutenant junior grade by 1912 (signal officer).  He was member of the state House of Representatives from Springfield. He resigned in 1915. This medal was issued to him in January 1908.
