SSgt William C. Gibson, 37th Bomb Squadron, 17th Bomb Group, was killed when his B-26 Marauder bomber crashed on 12 October 1944 near Roccalbegna, Italy. Initially buried in Italy, Gibson was later reinterred in Pennsylvania.
