Marine Corps WWI Purple Heart, engraved “Edwin S. Clark”. Reribboned on a crimp brooch. Heavy edge and surface wear.
Edwin Scott Clark was born in Prospect, Pennsylvania, 13 September 1896. He enlisted into the Marine Corps in April 1915 and was serving in Cuba when the United States entered the war. He went to France with the 17th Company, 5th Marines. He was wounded in action on 4 October 1918. Clark was discharged in August 1919. He died in September 1955. Clark was authorized to wear the French fourragere.
