Group of 6 to CWO-3 Roscoe Buffington, US Navy: Navy Good Conduct Medal, wrap brooch, hand-engraved “Roscoe/Buffington/1938″; China Service Medal, Navy, crimp brooch, later strike; American Defense Service Medal, slot brooch, clasp “Fleet”; Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal; World War II Victory Medal, slot brooch; Soochow Creek Medal 1940, with “US Navy” top bar, engraved “R. Buffington, MSmth 2/c” on the reverse.

In March 1941, Buffington left the destroyer tender, USS Black Hawk, in China, moving to Destroyer Repair Unit #1, San Diego. He retired from the Navy in 1955 as a CWO-3. Born in 1912, Buffington died in 1974 and is buried in Cypress, California.
