Purple Heart, “George J. Sarra”

Purple Heart, slot brooch, script-engraved “George J. Sarra”. With a single dog tag to Sarra (T-43).

George J. Sarra, 180th Infantry, 45th Infantry Division, served in Italy and France. He received the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts.  Sarra was admitted to a hospital in 1944 with a broken arm and other wounds caused by an artillery shell detonation. He died in 1992 and is buried in the Fort Indiantown Gap Cemetery, Pennsylvania.
