1Lt Robbins L. Conn received the Distinguished Service Cross for actions on 10 September 1918: “Lieutenant Conn volunteered and, with two soldiers, went on a patrol for the purpose of capturing prisoners. They crawled forward to within a few yards of the enemy lines, overpowered two sentries, and succeeded in delivering them to the battalion commander, despite the fact that the enemy put down a heavy barrage of rifle fire and rifle grenades.”
