World War I Victory (A.J. Adams, AB, RN)
World War I Victory Medal;(220333 A.J. Adams, AB, RN). With copied service record.
Alfred John Adams enlisted in the Royal Navy in 1902. He was promoted to Able Seaman in 1905 and remained in that rate until he was demobilized in 1919. He served most of the war aboard HMS Tyne, a stores ship, earning a 1914-15 trio. His records show several disciplinary incidents and do not reflect the award of a Long Service and Good Conduct Medal. Adams was a civilian war casualty during the Blitz in 1940.
