Turner, 2nd Armored Division: Silver Star, slot brooch, machine-engraved “Nicholas W./Turner”; Bronze Star, with two oak leaf clusters, slot brooch; Purple Heart, slot brooch, machine-engraved “Nicholas W./Turner”; Army Good Conduct Medal, slot brooch, unnamed; American Defense Service Medal, clasp “Foreign Service”; American Campaign Medal; Europe-Africa-Middle East Campaign Medal; World War II Victory Medal, slot brooch; Army of Occupation Medal, with clasp “Germany”; National Defense Service Medal, with a star on the ribbon; Vietnam Service Medal, with one star on the ribbon. With a German-made Combat Infantry Badge and a Japanese-made Combat Infantry Badge with star.

Turner, from Hammondsport, New York, served in the 2nd Armored Division in Africa, France and Germany in World War II and received the Silver Star in division General Orders No. 41 (1945). Retiring as a sergeant first class, Turner died in 2009 and is buried at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas.
