In his “New Medal Letters”, Al Gleim notes a Navy 5 March 1929 order from the Mint for 100 medals (M.No.15500 through M.No.15599). Later orders in 1930 and 1932 added “M.No.16000” through “M.No.16674”. In Gleim’s census of numbered medals, this medal’s “M.No.15515” was the lowest seen in this range.
