Grand Army of the Republic. First type (“3Bn”) membership badge, 1866. 13x13mm, bronze-gilt and enamel, with a T-pin with an open catch.

The first type of membership was only in use for a few years. Because there were no standards published, veterans had the badges made in a variety of metals and sizes.
