Georgia. Cobb County Chamber of Commerce Community Valor Award Medal. A shield-shaped pendant quartered to depict; a jet aircraft, the American flag, a warship and an artillery piece; the reverse is inscribed “In appreciation of/those who made the supreme sacrifice. Presented by the/Cobb County Chamber/of Commerce. On a purple ribbon; in its issue box.

This medal was created in 1969 (retroactive to 1960) for the families of military personnel who lost their lives on active duty. The Chamber of Commerce made an initial purchase of 250 medals. Cobb County lies northwest of Atlanta. Marietta is its largest city.
