Group to Colonel Joseph A. Hreha, US Air Force: Legion of Merit, slot brooch, machine-engraved in a circle “Joseph A./Hreha”, in a black leatherette case with ribbon bar and lapel pin. Bronze Star, slot brooch, unnamed, in a black leatherette case. Army Commendation Medal, crimp-over-slot brooch, unnamed, in a clear plastic case (chipped). American Defense Service Medal, boxed with a ribbon bar and lapel pin. World War II Victory Medal, boxed with ribbon bar, Korean Service Medal, boxed with ribbon bar; United Nations Korea Medal, boxed.

Joseph Albert Hreha was commissioned as a finance officer in June 1940, rising to lieutenant colonel by 1945 and earning a Bronze Star. In 1947, he transferred to the US Air Force. Promoted to colonel in 1951, he was the Comptroller, Continental Air Command in 1955. Col Hreha died on active duty in August 1955 and is buried in the Fort Lawton Cemetery, Seattle, Washington.
